What do you love about snowboarding?
You learn a lot about yourself through snowboarding, through being on the mountain. You get to a place where you may be challenged with the conditions, find a quick solution to go around it. Like it comes fast re-writing. Like if something happens fast, you have to deal with it right there and then. Ok, go around it or go straight through it.
DCP of YES Snowboards
In this story, we caught up with DCP of YES Snowboards at the OR Show in Denver. DCP is known for riding sick lines and sending it, but when we chatted him up at the YES booth, he spoke on a range of subjects. From why he loves snowboarding to how the YES 420 Snowboard is a revolutionary snowboard and their new definitions are something that the snowboarding industry should to pay attention to.
It is the new way to see it, its like surfing. It’s called the liter. A new way to calculate how big your board is. Because nowadays if you tell someone you ride a 156cm. What kind? Is it wide, is it tall is it a fish, is it swallow tail?
It’s already tough because everybody has a board in centimeters, a stance in inches and we jump off of forty foot cliffs. It’s all over the place. Trying to introduce a decimeter square might be tough but we could call it the liter.

If you are familiar with the Jones Storm Chaser or even the Gentemstick's Rocket Fish, you know that bigger is not always better in the powder. In fact, if you are willing to give it a try and stick with it, you will see that riding shorter boards that are wider can be very fun. This is the YES 420 148cm snowboard which I road on a couple of powder days in Steamboat Colorado. Normally, I rode a 159 cm all winter. When I tried the Yes 420 148cm snowboard, I could not believe that I loved it. Once you get use to the smaller circumference, it is perfect for deep tree runs. I was happy to not hear my board knocking against trees as I went through these runs. I also could not believe how light the board was and loved carrying it around on the resort. As small as the board is, I would consider snow shoes up with the YES 420 on my back. I would be very comfortable riding down in deep powder on the YES 420. It totally changed my view on size.

This is the Yes Greats Un Inc. We made a nice graphic story to tell the story of the Un Inc. days when we were at Burton. When we were in New Zealand and then we went to jail and we don’t care about our reputation.

The YES 2020 is a true twin snowboard with powder holes. This snowboard is short and wide, more like a skateboard. The way it floats and plows makes it perfect for backcountry and freestyle riding.
We’ve got the powder board and this new innovation the see through tips. With the powder haul, it basically wants to lift you on the front end and then sink you on the back end when you ride through powder. A very fun board. Very fun, powder specific but you can take it to the hill and carve.
