I actually saw the Hoods To Woods Foundation in action before I knew anything about the foundation or had met the founders Brian Paupaw and Omar Diaz. The year was 2009 and I had only been snowboarding for about 3 years so I still sucked majorly. NJ Transit use to run a bus out of Port Authority to Mountain Creek on the weekends at 7am and it would depart the mountain at 4pm. I was dedicated, I got a Mountain Creek season pass and would catch this ride on any weekend that I could to get better at snowboarding. It was this solo mission that I use to take to take to Mountain Creek that put me on the same South Side of the mountain where I saw them in the lift line.
